Balancing Family with Golf

Last week was a bit rough not because of golf. My grandfather, Jack Pickard, passed away. Without his encouragement when I was 13 years old, I may never have taken up the game. I’m sorry that he won’t be able to see me play pro golf. I know he was looking forward to it.

It was touch and go whether I’d make it back to Florida on time for the start of the tournament on Monday. I got caught up in the snowstorms on the northeast coast on my flight from Toronto to Philadelphia. I made my connector flight with minutes to spare but my luggage did not. After that, the airport shut down. Whew!

I just finished my sixth event today. Overall, I’m happy that I made the cut and finished the best so far. Still, I could do a lot better. I’ve got to find a way to limit my mistakes. I’m going up and down like a yo yo. Fortunately, I’m able to balance off the bogeys with birdies.

I’ve got some time off now before the next event. So, I’ll have a chance to work on my game.
