Looking for Consistency

I’ve gotten off to a good start making it past the cut in three of four tournaments so far. I’ve even been getting in a few good low rounds. Now, I’m working on consistency. It would be nice to see some low rounds together in one tournament!

Each day I play, I’m learning about pro golf. For example, now every shot matters much more since there is a dollar value assigned to it. It’s making me sharpen my focus on strategy.

I’m enjoying the freedom to practice and work out when I want. It’s nice not to have to go to school anymore.

I’m settling into my new apartment in Jupiter. It’s pretty empty but much better than a crowded hotel room.

I guess we’re in good company here. Tiger just bought a huge place down the road. Ben Curtis lives nearby. So does Greg Norman. It’s a bit overwhelming.

Life in Florida

This is the first time in my life I have lived in a warm place in January. It's great because I can practice every day outdoors rather than in a heated dome!

Since I started playing in the Gateway Tour, I've been bunking with Joe Hurtuk, who was on the Kent State golf team with me in Ohio, and my buddy from Toronto, J.C. Deacon.

Just this week, J.C. and I found a place we can call home for awhile. It's a two bedroom in Jupiter, close to a good gym and the tournaments we'll be playing in.

The only down side is that it is unfurnished. Besides our cars, all we have right now is our golf clubs and clothes!

The Gateway Tour has been a practical choice. I get to play with very talented pros of all ages almost every week. It keeps me sharp and is helping to develop my game.

I am enjoying the opportunity to play golf daily. It's what I have wanted to do for a long time. This kind of developmental tour is perfect for this stage of my career. I don't have the huge travel expenses of a Canadian or a Nationwide Tour.

Hopefully, I can build up my bank account so I can progress to bigger Tours soon.
